Hi, I'm Rachel Tarlow.

I'm the photographer behind Ataras Photographs, based in Middlesex, NJ. I started shooting because I kept noticing the in-between moments — the real ones, the ones people don't pose for — and I wanted a way to hold onto them.

These days I photograph families, graduations, engagements, and simchas across New Jersey. Whether it's a full family session, senior portraits before college, or your kid's bar or bat mitzvah, my job is the same: show up, pay attention, and give you back photos that actually feel like the people in them.

I believe a session should feel easy. No stiff poses, no forced smiles, no rush. Just a little time together, and then — a few weeks later — a gallery of photos you'll keep forever.

Outside of photography, I'm passionate about teaching. The two share the same muscle in my experience: paying attention, and helping people see something they might've missed.
